There are certain favorite poets whom I find my cursor likes to click first. You are one of them, Allan. Thank you for commenting on my work.
May your pen never be too heavy to write with, your vision never too blurry to see your dreams come true, and may your heart never become so weary that you stop writing poetry.
Sincerely,
Amanda |

I have been on this (sorry) site for some time now and wanted to add a short comment.
Allan Saywell is a worldclass poet. No doubt about it. He writes poetry that can only be the envy of others. He also has a great sense of humour, humours that drives him to write for the pure enjoyment of expressing thoughts, whether they are fleeting or more sedentary.
I am honoured to know Allan and to appreciate his talent, his kindness and his helpfulness.
And I do understand the envy when certain rats look and find him on the list of poets and on the list of poems.
Boy that must smart.

I don't care about past silliness...as regards you, I look at the poems. and recently, you have made postings that are up there with the best of the work on this site. you talk about pieces of art or contemplate the exterior and interior world in a fascinating way...your language is fresh and completely unexpected...your recent work has proved how good you really are. I've always read your poems because I saw flashes of greatness in there and now it is beginning to pour out of you, and I and others are beginning to see the real Allan Saywell. I look forward to more of your philosophical, reflective poems...really great work, Allan. |
