Fading Color Poem by Luke Fellner

Fading Color

Roses are red
violets are blue
but is this beauty true?

look closer at their atoms
you'll see familiar patterns.
colors don't transcend
but rather die toward the end.

their colors are just surface
yet they still deserve this
Love and fame?

We don't have color,
that's why we suffer.
That's why we lie,
That's why we cry.

We don't have color,
but we remain the same
the deeper you look.
